Monkeying Around
Bright yellow flowers appear along watercourses and in moist soil.

Today’s photograph was taken along South Fork Drive at Heidi Road.
This specific type of Monkey Flower is named for its inclination to grow in moist soil (why it and its relatives are named for monkeys has a convoluted explanation). It can currently be seen all over Three River, growing along creeks, around ponds, and in other substantially wet areas.
